Disgruntled Me

Me time has been lovely tonight.  I put the fire on and had some fun.  I used a freebie die cut and made this little Easter card.  First off, to try a folded card in a non-traditional shape and secondly to manipulate the die cut.  The rabbit and grass were originally one colour.  Since I got all that to work I stamped on the Easter sentiment and stuck on a few odds and ends of flowers.  Somebody hand designed the die cut.  Someone else (me) used it and played with things to come up with a creation.  ( I know, its a kiddy card but that is not the point) The maker of the die cut machine that I happen to have sells their own images at roughly $50 each cartridge.  Each cartridge has about 25 images and they cannot be manipulated.  Now figure that you pick up a cartridge, the odds are that you only really want 3 or 4 of the images on it.  Pricey hobby.  So quite awhile back, Make-The-Cut makes design software that allows the user to make what they want.  It is just so frustrating to hear Provo Craft telling consumers to be creative and then taking away our right to be creative.  I guess I am whining.  I own a few cartridges and I have a huge collection of SVG files.  Until I get this figured out I am feeling a bit guilty when I design something myself.  If I wanted a prepackaged craft I would have saved money and bought a paint by numbers set.

  2. Adorable bunny! I have been trying to figure out which machine to buy to be able to use svg files, so let me know how to do this and what you prefer. I'd appreciate it!
