Yo Daddyo

I've had this card for about a week and decided to show it tonight.  I won't have very much time to carft tonight and probably won't have anything to show off.  I have to be hooked up to my dialysis machine by 8 pm.  I can use the laptop from bed but that's it.  Maybe I'll watch something on netflix.  The number of movies I watched the first month we had it was ridiculous.

So anyway, here's my little tribute to rockabilly.  I sort of goofed up really.  I did it using girly colours and papers and I think it really should have had bold colours and work as a guy card.  When was the last time you greeted a female with 'Daddyo'?  Oh well, I'll think this through the next time.  This card will probably sit with my stored cards until I meet a man who is in touch with his feminine side and is old enough to remember hearing the word 'daddyo'  Narrow field there.

Speaking of rockabilly though, Shelly introduced me to the Baseballs.  I watched a few videos on Youtube and they are so cool.  They're definitely rockabilly.  The lead singer could start a career as an Elvis impersonator with his voice.  They're from Germany and what makes them unique is they take today's pop hits (e.g., Lady Gaga's Poker Face)  and perform them as 50's rock'n' roll.  So if you're curious, type in 'The Baseballs' in the Youtube search field.

I'm all ready to start the trip in the morning.  I'm calm and had a good day getting paperwork done, medications and such.  A dear friend called me this morning and prayed with me over the phone.  That helped SO much.  So all is good and I'm just going to drive down there and that's one more major step behind me.  I'll bet the toughest part of the whole thing will be finding parking close enough to the hospital.

Shelly also brought me a bag full of bling for my cards.  There were 3 spools of super cool flocked ribbon.  Just as she arrived with that, the mailman delievered  my blog candy from Carri at A Busy Bee.  Remember the stick pins?  They are gaaaawjuss!  Thank you again, Carri.  They'll show up in upcoming cards for sure!

  2. I remember Daddy-O... and I'm not that old. Or, at least I don't remember being that old.
